Meet the board members
Dr. Frédéric Dehais has been a full professor at ISAE since 2011, and holds the AXA Chair in « Neuroergonomics for Flight Safety », a rare credit awarded to fewer than thirty researchers worldwide. He heads the Human Factors and Neuroergonomics department, a team of 18 members with interdisciplinary expertise in neuroscience, signal processing, computer science and human factors.
His research focuses on understanding the neural correlates of human errors in real-life situations and implementing real-time solutions to mitigate these errors. His research work has been published in international journals such as Neuroimage, Human Brain Mapping, Behavioral Brain Research, IEEE, Plos One, Human Factors.
His innovative work has also led to four international patents which are currently in use in modern civil aircraft. He is co-founder of the European 2f-NIRS conference with Dr. Stéphane Perrey and of the international Neuroergonomics conference with Dr. Hasan Ayaz.
- Expertise: Human-Computer Interface, Neuropsychology, Aeronautics Human Factors, Neuroergonomics, Memory, Cognitive Science, Artificial Intelligence
Dr. Vsevolod Peysakhovich has been an Associate Professor in Human Factors and Space Medicine at ISAE-SUPAERO since 2016. He got his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Toulouse, after obtaining a Master of Science degree in Mathematics from Novosibirsk State University (Russia) and two Engineering degrees from Ecole Polytechnique at Paris (in Applied Mathematics) and ISAE-SUPAERO at Toulouse (in Aerospace systems and Automatic Control). His research focuses on eye movements and visual attention of pilots and astronauts, to design better human-adapted tools for the industry and provide safer operations. He is the principal investigator of numerous research grants on human-computer interaction and physiological monitoring funded by the French Defense Innovation Agency (AID/DGA), European Space Agency (ESA), and French Space Agency (CNES). He co-signed more than 50 scientific articles including 20 articles in international journals.
- Expertise: Eye-movement, Virtual Reality, Cognition, Attention, Psychophysiology
His main research focus is on the neural basis of executive function, applied to both healthy and damaged brains. He is an expert in various brain imaging techniques and psychophysiological measurements (EEG, NIRS, eye tracking, ECG), as well as non-invasive brain stimulation (tRNS).
His work ranges from airplane pilots to patients with brain injuries (traumatic brain injury and vascular disease) to improve cognitive performance through neuro-training, whether to enhance flight safety or recover from injury.
- Expertise: Neurosciences, Neuroergonomics of Executive Functions, Neurotraining, Brain injury rehabilitation, Neurostimulation, State monitoring
